Attorney Information
Overview
Keydon Levy is a highly skilled trial attorney with over a decade of courtroom experience. He joined our firm in 2021, following a distinguished nine-year tenure as a Deputy District Attorney for Alameda County. In that role, Keydon handled a wide range of felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile cases from intake through to resolution. His decision to transition to defense work was driven by a growing awareness of how accusations were being weaponized, and how disproportionately criminal allegations impact communities of color.
As a Deputy DA, Keydon not only managed complex cases but also mentored entry-level attorneys. He excelled in arguing motions, conducting settlement negotiations, and preparing witnesses—including experts, laypeople, investigators, and analysts—for trial. In addition to his courtroom prowess, Keydon has shared his expertise with the next generation of lawyers as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University School of Law, where he taught courses in mock trial and evidence.
Keydon earned his Juris Doctorate from UC Berkeley, where he founded the Black Law Student Association's mock trial team, leading them to victories in both the Western Region and San Diego competitions. He also served as President of the Law Students of African Descent and as a board member for the Advocates Trial Team. Prior to law school, he graduated summa cum laude as valedictorian from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Criminology.
Keydon’s numerous accolades reflect his dedication to his craft. He holds lifetime memberships in the Charles Houston Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the National Bar Association. He has also served as Vice-President of the Bay Area Black Prosecutors Association and was a member of the Earl Warren Inn of Court. His excellence in trial advocacy has earned him recognition from the National Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 40 under 40 Criminal Defense Lawyers in California.
Admitted to practice law in California, New York, the District of Columbia, and the US District Courts for the Central, Northern, and Southern Districts of California and the Southern District of New York, Keydon brings a wealth of legal experience and insight to our team. As the first male Of Counsel attorney at our all-women firm, he approaches every case with meticulous attention to detail and leverages his vast experience in serious and violent criminal cases to ensure successful litigation. His expertise in case analysis, jury trials, strategic planning, and negotiations make him an invaluable asset to our team.
In his free time, Keydon enjoys cycling and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
