Veronica Soto - Oakland, CA

Veronica Soto is an accomplished attorney serving as Of Counsel to Lamano Law Office, bringing over 9 years of experience in criminal law and 6 years in civil litigation. Veronica began her legal career as a Public Defender with the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office before transitioning to the City of Los Angeles as a Deputy City Attorney. In her role as a city prosecutor, she handled numerous cases over a 4-year span before moving to the general civil litigation unit, where she spent 6 years managing a diverse range of civil matters. After working as a contract attorney with Lamano Law for 2 years, she officially joined the firm as Of Counsel.

With a strong background in both criminal and civil litigation, Veronica has successfully completed 20 trials in both arenas. She is well-regarded for her unwavering support of clients, both inside and outside the courtroom, and her strategic approach to cases, which has resulted in numerous dismissals, favorable verdicts, and settlements.

Veronica's legal expertise extends beyond criminal and civil litigation. She has practiced family law, assisting clients with divorce, child custody, and property matters, as well as immigration law, where she represented clients in deportation proceedings and applications for U.S. citizenship. As a fluent Spanish speaker, she provides vital representation for Spanish-speaking clients.

Veronica earned her Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2002, where she served as an editor for the Computer and High Technology Law Journal. During her time in law school, she also took on the role of public relations coordinator for the Latin and Native American Law Students Association.

Outside of her work at Lamano Law, Veronica enjoys hiking and spending quality time with her husband and two sons. We are proud to have her as part of our team.
