Alan B. Cox’s practice focuses on estate planning, trust administration, and probate and small estate administration. Alan is a proud Redding native offering over two decades of experience as an attorney in the North State. He has handled a wide variety of legal issues in public and private practice with a focus on probate related issues throughout his career. Alan is a problem solver with an orientation toward seeking efficient solutions to meet client needs. He places a premium on leveraging listening skills, politeness, humor, and courtesy whenever possible to initiate and maintain productive working relationships and to secure positive outcomes.
Alan obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1992 and a Master of Arts in History in 1999 from California State University, Chico and received his Juris Doctorate from Cal Northern School of Law in Chico in 2002. He has dedicated his legal career to helping make our local communities better places to live while serving as a Deputy County Counsel in Shasta and Tehama Counties and in private practice serving local residents providing Estate Planning and Probate services.
As a lifelong Redding resident Alan enjoys many hobbies and interests oriented to the endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors available to members of our community. He likes snow skiing, mountain biking, boating, swimming, camping, hiking ,backpacking, classic cars, cooking, history, but above all, spending time with his family.
