Lawrence M. Guslani specializes in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. He handles commercial insurance, errors and omissions coverage, directors and officer's coverage, personal lines coverage and worker's compensation insurance matters.
Mr. Guslani received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley in 1979. He received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1982 and was admitted to practice law that year.
Mr. Guslani is licensed to practice law in all the California state courts, the United States District Court (Northern, Southern, Eastern and Central Districts) and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In addition, he is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, the International Association of Defense Counsel and the Northern California Association of Defense counsel where he has spoken on a number of occasions involving various insurance coverage issues. Mr. Guslani is also an Update Author for California Automobile Insurance Law Guide (Second Edition) and California Liability Insurance Practice: Claims & Litigation. He also has been awarded the highest rating (AV) by Martindale-Hubbell. He was also recently named one of the Northern California Super Lawyers 2006 in Insurance Law by the publishers of Law & Politics and San Francisco magazines.
Mr. Guslani has handled thousands of insurance coverage matters, including numerous cases which have resulted in published decisions favorable to the insurance industry including Swain v. California Casualty (2002) 99 Cal. App. 4th 1; Sutton v. Farmers Insurance Exchange (1995) 35 Cal. App. 4th 795; Devin v. USAA (1992) 6 Cal. App. 4th 1149; and State Farm Fire & Casualty Company v. Baer (N.D. Cal. 1990) 745 F. Supp. 595.
