Attorney Information

Overview

Raquelle is an accomplished litigation attorney with over 25 years of experience representing clients in high-conflict family law matters. She has extensive courtroom experience, including trials, evidentiary hearings, and complex motion practice, and is skilled in legal research, writing, discovery, and settlement negotiations. She is also trained in divorce mediation and collaborative practice and leverages this depth of experience to find the best solution for clients in their family law matters.

Raquelle began her legal career in Arizona after earning her Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. She joined Community Legal Services in Phoenix as a fellow with the National Association of Public Interest Law, where she represented underserved individuals in disability, workers’ compensation, consumer protection, domestic relations, and landlord-tenant matters. During her fellowship, she litigated cases in Arizona’s justice and superior courts, as well as before administrative tribunals.

Following her fellowship, Raquelle expanded her litigation experience by serving as a Deputy District Attorney in Arizona, where she prosecuted a broad spectrum of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. This experience strengthened her courtroom advocacy and trial skills, which continue to benefit her clients today.

After returning to California, Raquelle devoted her practice exclusively to family law. For more than two decades, she has represented clients in contested divorces, child custody disputes, domestic violence proceedings, high-net-worth dissolutions, complex property division, and other sophisticated family law matters. She is committed to providing strategic, practical, and compassionate representation tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

For 17 years, Raquelle founded and managed her own successful family law practice, earning a reputation for strong advocacy, strategic case development, and compassionate client service. She also served as a senior associate at one of Sacramento’s leading family law firms, where she represented clients in family law matters. She also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Sacramento County Bar Family Law Counselor, and chaired the Custody Subcommittee of the Sacramento Family Law Bench-Bar and volunteered her time as a mediator for Placer County Superior Court. Raquelle further expanded her experience by working on high-net worth divorce matters at a prestigious Bay Area law firm, developing substantial expertise in equity-based compensation, and complex income analysis.

Raquelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Master of Business Administration, and a Juris Doctor, combining legal expertise with business acumen. She empowers her clients by explaining their options clearly and weighing the cost-benefit of litigation versus settlement—ensuring they can make informed decisions during some of life’s most difficult transitions.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
