Walter Alegria at Bulldog Law has been an incredible support during one of the hardest times of our lives. After the tragic accident on 3rd Avenue, which led to a wrongful death claim, we were not only grieving but also trying to defend ourselves as responsible drivers. Even though many people were quick to judge, Walter never wavered. He stood by us with such empathy and understanding, making sure we felt heard and supported every step of the way. It was a tough legal battle, but his dedication and compassion made all the difference. Walter fought for us like no one else, and we are forever grateful for his hard work and expertise. If you're looking for someone who truly cares about your case and will go the extra mile, Walter is the one you need by your side.

It’s been a year plus since the day I was arrested and opted for a speedy trial. After spending thousands of cash dollars and getting the run around from multiple lawyers, some of which didn’t even know what day my court appearance was therefore no showed and showed up late, they weren’t willing to work with me with paying my last quarter of the bill owed. In fact they wanted to charge an additional amount that was almost three times as much as what I had already paid them for taking my case to trial without any sort of reasonable payment plan. When the firm finally assigned me a lawyer that was actually making headway in my defense who even had to pay for her gas and room in order to show on time they made her remove herself from case because I couldn’t afford the unreasonable amount they required right before my case was about to finally go to trial a year to the date later! For a year plus I asked them to help me aquire the rest of my possessions (saw mill, tools and materials of my trade needed to make additional income as well as some potential evidence that is beneficial to my case) I was left broke and feeling hopeless. I would nNOT recommend this firm to anyone,

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
