I hired Paul about a year ago & my case finally concluded. He was very helpful. I heard of him first from my nursing support group, and he was highly recommended. I had an issue I was facing with my license (pending revocation), and we had to attend a hearing. He was very thorough, attentive, detailed and knowledgeable about the process & my case. I felt very confident in hiring him, from word of mouth, and it was a lengthy process (out of his hands). We ended up attending a hearing and I was very nervous, but he was able to ease some of the anxiety with his knowledge and guidance. I ended up getting what he asked for & it was a good ending. I feel that I wouldn’t of stood a chance fighting this alone & representing myself, so I am very happy I hired Paul. He is fair, confident and very easy to work with. I couldn’t recommend him more!

When I found myself under investigation, I quickly became overwhelmed and stressed. My life was consumed by the investigation. Fortunately I was able to consult with Paul Chan. His response time to my request was impressively quick. He was able to come up with simple and effective responses to my case. More importantly, he restored my confidence in myself. I got my life back. Priceless service.

The staff AJ and Jeff helped me keep my RN license and I am so grateful for the knowledge Jeff had in representing me in a board hearing which was done via zoom. Thank you Jeff 🙏🏻

Paul was absolutely amazing in helping me defend my license! He was honest, compassionate, and very honest during the entire process. I wouldn’t be where I am now without Paul’s help! I recommend him to any nurse needed help with the long process dealing with the BRN.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
