Verified ClientHired Law firm 2019Shorb and Connor were recommended to me by a friend while I was in a painful and difficult divorce that had been going on for two years with another law firm. Mr. Shorb had an immediate plan of what needed to be done after our initial meeting and he implemented the plan immediately. Motions, subpoenas, communication with the opposing counsel all happened at lightning speed. The attorneys in this firm work together on your case; one in the office and one in court -- it was all done with such precision, professionalism and excellent communication --I was updated often as things moved along. Divorces are painful and overwhelming. Andrew and Kristin made it much more less stressful for me and I felt really safe with them advocating for me. All issues, including the fight over support (which I NEVER thought we would be able to settle outside of a trial) were wrapped up and agreed to within a month of retaining this firm. . If you want ethical, professional attorneys on your side that win with their knowledge and sophistication rather than those other attorneys that are aggressive with "tricks up their sleeve" You will not go wrong with Shorb and Conner. They quickly settled my nightmare of a divorce and were so kind to me. I highly recommend them... I am actually going to miss them.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
