She graduated early from Notre Dame de Namur University with dual Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and English. She then attended the University of San Diego School of Law, where she competed on the Mock Trial team and advanced to national competitions, honing her litigation skills and mastery of the rules of evidence. She routinely received perfect scores during the mock trial competitions.

Immediately following law school, Ms. Perez began practicing family law, advocating for individuals navigating divorce, custody, support, and other family legal matters. Her blend of academic achievement, trial experience, and client-centered practice makes her a trusted advocate for families throughout California.
