Overview
Over the course of his career, Mr. Overholt has obtained numerous Awards for millions of dollars for his clients. Mr. Overholt represents injured workers who have suffered severe injuries, including to the spine resulting in quadriplegia and paraplegia. He also has extensive experience litigating TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) cases. Mr. Overholt is one of the most well respected trial attorneys for Workers' Compensation in San Diego.
Aggressive litigation and an understanding of catastrophic injury cases and how the are handled has led to some of the largest Awards in California. Mr. Overholt obtained on Award of $8,000,000 in cash benefits for one injured worker who was still able to go on to open his own business. Mr. Overholt was able to negotiate a $17,000,000 in expected cash benefit for a severely injured client. He is a results driven attorney who continuously delivers exceptional results.
Mr. Overholt sits on the Board of Directors of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association, which is the number one organization that advocates for laws to protect injured workers in California. He also serves on the Amicus Committee, where he drafts briefs and argues before the Appellate Courts for workers' rights. Mr. Overholt co-authored the Amicus brief in the seminal case Castellanos v. Protect App-Based Services Drivers, et al. on behalf California Applicants' Attorneys Association in the California Supreme Court.In addition, he co-authored the Amicus brief in the often cited Applied Materials v. WCAB in the Court of Appeal, Sixth Appellate District.
He also helps at the local level where he served as Chapter President of the San Diego CAAA Chapter. He has been invited to speak at conferences around the country on legal issues in Workers' Compensation. For his accomplishments, he holds an Avvo "Superb" rating, and the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys honored him in its "10 Best" Attorneys and Firms for Client Satisfaction lists. He also received an Award for his service to the Workers' Compensation legal community.
