Hali is originally from Wilmington, Delaware and moved to Washington D.C. to attend American University Where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Special Education. She then moved to Philadelphia to help recipients of federal assistance find employment.
Always knowing that she was a California girl at heart, Hali moved to San Diego to attend the University of San Diego School of Law in 2005. She graduated Order of the Barristers at the top of her class, representing USD Law on its mock trial team for 3 years.
During law school, Hali interned at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and externed for the Honorable John A. She describes herself as a well-rounded employment litigator with a passion for social justice. Her dedication and excellent work paid off and she became one of GrahamHollis APC's Shareholders in 2021.
Hali is on the Board of the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association and is a San Diego LEAD IMPACT graduate, as well as a graduate of the Black Women's Institute of Leadership Development. She is also a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity fellow (Class of 2014).

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
