Overview
Isam C. Khoury is a founding partner of Cohelan Khoury & Singer the firm. He has been selected as a Southern California/San Diego Super Lawyer for the years 2011-2021 and has received the Martindale Hubble Judicial AV preeminent rating. Attorney Khoury received his B.A. from UCSD and earned his law degree from Hastings College of the Law in 1973.
In recent years, Mr. Khoury has emphasized wage and hour class action matters, having assisted in the litigation to judgment or settlement of over 300 wage and hour class actions. He has been approved as a CLE lecturer and has participated in seminars on class action wage and hour issues, the complexities of mediation, and the procedural requirements involved in class action settlements.
Attorney Khoury has tried numerous civil jury trials, argued appeals, and been co-counsel in several matters of major import, including California Supreme Court decisions. His achievements include the Brinker decision, which clarified California meal and rest break requirements, and Harris v Liberty Mutual, which defined parameters for the use of the administrative exemption.
Sam is also an award-winning singer-songwriter, whose band has been a fixture on New Year's Eve at San Diego's Dobsons' Restaurant for over 30 years and the San Diego County Fair. His first album, "Stay Awhile," is freely available at Soundcloud.com.
