Jon R. Williams is a partner at Boudreau Williams llp, where he specializes in the handling of civil appeals and writs at both the state and federal court levels. Reversal of district court's grant of qualified immunity in civil rights claims, establishing new precedent regarding attachment of 5th Amendment rights to custodial interrogations.Also included successfully defending against four separate petitions for certiorari to the United States Supreme Court.

Reversal of trial court's denial of petition to compel arbitration, enforcing binding arbitration agreement and establishing new precedent for the enforcement of multi-party arbitration agreements.

Whistleblower Protection:Ohton v. Trustees of CSU (Ohton II)

(2010) 180 Cal.App.4th 1402

Reversal of denial of administrative writ of mandate, allowing client's claim to trial and ultimately resulting in multi-million dollar settlement for client.Also included successfully defending result at the California Supreme Court through amicus participation in lead case (Runyon v. Trustees of CSU (2010) 48 Cal.4th 760).

After graduating cum laude from California Western School of Law in 1992, where he was Notes and Comments Editor of the California Western Law Review/International Law Journal, Mr. Williams joined San Diego's Boudreau & Trentacosta, llp, specializing for over six years in personal injury, products liability and professional negligence litigation.Mr. Williams next worked with San Diego-based Higgs, Fletcher & Mack, llp, focusing his practice almost exclusively on civil appeals and writs.Subsequently, as a partner at Ross, Dixon & Bell, llp, a national law firm based in Washington, D.C. - with offices also in Chicago, Orange County and San Diego - Mr. Williams handled exclusively complex appellate matters in California and across the country.He has continued that practice after establishing his own firm in 2007, Boudreau Williams llp.

Mr. Williams has consistently been honored as a "San Diego Superlawyer" (2008-2011), as well as a "Top 10 Attorney" in the San Diego Daily Transcript's "Top Lawyers in San Diego County" for 2006; he was similarly honored as a semi-finalist in both 2005 and 2007.He currently sits on the Board of Directors and is an officer of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA), where he serves as SDCBA Treasurer.Mr. Williams also served on the Board of Directors of Consumer Attorneys of San Diego (CASD) (2002-2008), where he was Civil Procedure editor for CASD's Trial Bar News, publishing monthly articles on a number of civil procedure issues from 1996 to 2007.He is also a Past-President of the California Western School of Law Alumni Board of Directors, and is a member of Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC).

When not practicing law, Mr. Williams enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons, cycling, and surfing.He has also trained for and completed fifteen triathlons in the last six years.
