Attorney Information

Overview

Born and raised in San Jose, California, Lynn made the decision to stay in Northern California to go to the University of California, Davis. The summer before her last year at UC Davis, she worked as an intern for the Santa Clara County Office of the Public Defender which peaked her interest in the legal field. After graduating from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Lynn was accepted into the highly competitive SCALE program at Southwestern University School of Law. As a part of SCALE program, she completed a full time externship as a law clerk with the Law Offices of the Los Angeles County Public Defender. Through this externship, Lynn gained invaluable trial experience and insight which she has carried over into her private practice.

Since being admitted to the California bar, Lynn has been honing her legal skills in the field of insurance coverage and general liability matters. She is also former general counsel for a large real estate and property management company where she was exposed to everything from small claims and personal injury suits to ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Lynn has extensive experience in insurance coverage matters with an emphasis on commercial general liability policies. She is also admitted to practice before the Federal District Courts of California for the Central and Northern districts and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In her spare time Lynn loves to do activities with her two young children including reading, playing in the kitchen, outdoor sports and taking walks.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
