Matthew H. Springmeyer received a Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Literacy Studies (writing emphasis) from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2010. Mr. Springmeyer attended law school at California Western School of Law in San Diego, CA. Mr. Springmeyer graduated in the top ten of his class with Magna Cum Laude Honors in 2013.
While in law school, Mr. Springmeyer was the Co-Chair of the Community Outreach Committee, which focused on providing law students with volunteer opportunities. He was also on the Dean’s Honor List every trimester and received Pro Bono and Public Service honors for his extensive hours dedicated to helping others. Additionally, Mr. Springmeyer was the Executive Notes and Comments Editor for the California Western International Law Journal, as well as a member of the California Western Law Review.
Mr. Springmeyer worked as a federal judicial extern for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Ruben B. Brooks, Southern District of California. He has also worked for the San Diego County Public Defender in the Multiple Conflicts Office, the Legal Aid Society of San Diego—where he worked in their Pro Bono Clinics, and the United States Attorney’s Officer for the Southern District of California where he worked in the Narcotics Enforcement Section. He is licensed to practice law in all the California state courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
