I highly recommend this law firm for any immigration case, petition or legal representation they are the best. If you’re looking a good immigration Law firm, From what I've experienced the law offices of Shamieh and Ternieden are by far the best in the country they're attentive, affordable and best of all they are winners they have won for me and my family what I thought was impossible in record time within 6 months that's unheard of in immigration cases that's why I think they're the best in the country. The head attorney Mr.Elias Shamieh is very sharp and knowledgeable he's the most skilled attorney I’ve ever met, and Mr.Ghassan Shamieh is very intelligent and informed he worked very hard with me and went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed to win the case.

I had an excellent experience working on my asylum case with Mr. Shamieh, who proved to be by far the best immigration lawyer I came across in my search for a lawyer to handle my asylum case. His extensive experience and knowledge of immigration law came through in his insights on the immigration process, its requirements and likely outcomes, which proved to be very accurate in every step of the way. His extensive track record in immigration law was also evident in the guidance he gave me in preparation of my case filing and interview, where he knew all the immigration officers, from the building security to my interviewer.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
