Andrei Romanenko has a sharp legal mind and gives straight to the point, no BS advice. Mr. Romanenko is a certified specialist in immigration law, but, apart from immigration, he has unmatched experience in other areas of the law. Mr. Romanenko represented me in a civil case and won! I, and 3 other people, were sued by a vindictive person for what we said in court. Needless to say, being sued was horrible. I knew I needed a lawyer, and one I can trust to solve my problem and not rip me off. When I consulted Mr. Romanenko, he told me right on the spot what motion I needed to file to get the case against me thrown out. Mr. Romanenko filed the right motion from the start and the judge dismissed the lawsuit. This case ended in just 3 months. Not only Mr. Romanenko won my case, we are now going after the plaintiff for attorney fees. The judge already ordered the plaintiff to pay my legal fees. We still have a long way to go in getting the plaintiff to actually pay, but, my point is that Mr. Romanenko fought for me and won. Mr. Romanenko treated me with respect and integrity. Mr. Romanenko is not afraid to tackle anything. If you want a lawyer who knows his stuff, then hire Mr. Romanenko. He is sharp, knowledgeable, straight to the point, and he fights for what's right. He cares about his clients and does not treat them as just a paycheck. Mr. Romanenko took my calls and answered my emails after business hours and on weekends, and, didn't charge me a dime for talking to him. Mr. Romanenko cared about my cause and about restoring justice. I am a lawyer who practices family law and I know this business. There are real lawyers and there are "lawyers." I have yet to see a lawyer who is available to clients after 5 pm and on weekends. With lawyers, you get what you pay for, but, oftentimes, you don't. Hire a sole practitioner, like Mr. Romanenko, who has a wealth of experience and who doesn't nickel and dime his clients. When it comes to matters that can affect your life, go with the right professional. Go with Andrei Romanenko!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
