He took the time to hear what was going on with my landlord and gave me useful suggestions. He was not able to represent me but offered alternatives.

Aaron was very helpful during our consultation call. He was efficient in hearing my problem and coming to a solution. He was also able to put my tenant/ landlord issue into a perspective that I never really thought about before. Thank you for your help!

Aaron is great! Super responsive, reasonable, and very helpful. He was super patient and broke down a lot of the legalese to myself and my wife and I would highly recommend him!

I would recommend Mr. Darsky without reservation to any tenant who is wondering about their rights and what legal recourse is available. I found myself in an extremely untenable housing situation during COVID-19 (my master tenant moved her son into my room, denied me entry to the premises because I would be "bringing foreign germs into the house", while continuing to collect my rent and asking for pre-payments of additional rent to cover the cost of her dentures). With his understanding of tenant law, Mr. Darsky was able to bring a timely, level-headed, and knowledgeable legal perspective to the situation.

Aaron Darsky is extremely competent in regards to defending tenant rights including unlawful detainers. He asks the right key questions and understands quickly in what situation you are in. No other lawyer among the many I ever encountered was capable of grasping the case so fast. He lays out your options clearly and is not shy to give you legal advice! Speaking with him makes it obvious that he cares about you and the protection of your rights. Moreover, he is very honest and explains what you have to expect in your case. Overall, he is a wonderful person and a very skilled lawyer and tenant defender.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
