Jeffrey Clause - San Francisco, CA

Jeffrey obtained his undergraduate degree with a major in History from the University of California, Davis in 2010. He received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2014, where he competed in and directed Honors Moot Court Competitions.

Following law school and passing the California bar exam, Jeff initially practiced with a multispecialty firm in Sacramento, California, where his work focused on the defense of public entities, including the representation of police officers in civil rights litigation, and injury claims where there were alleged dangerous conditions of public property. His experience in defending public entities is often put to use on behalf of Walkup clients who have brought affirmative claims for injuries caused by the negligence or wrongful conduct of cities, counties and the State. Also while practicing in Sacramento, Jeff worked in litigation involving both private and commercial vehicle accidents.

Jeff began working at Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger in 2016 to pursue his passion of representing injured clients in personal injury lawsuits. His case responsibilities include the prosecution of all types of personal injury claims including vehicle collisions, property defects, personal liability, product liability, government liability and medical negligence.

Jeff is an avid sportsman and while in undergraduate school was a member of the UCD Varsity Rowing Team. He also coached a high school rowing team in Sacramento during that time, leading his crews to finish in the top 10 at the National Championships held in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 2011 A serious cyclist, Jeff founded the Santa Clara University Cycling Team during law school in 2011. He competed in and won a silver medal in the 2013 U.S. National Championships in the Individual Time Trial in Ogden, Utah. Because of his years of experience in cycling, Jeff is often involved in the firm's representation of injured cyclists-whether injured through road defects, vehicle collisions or product defects in the design or manufacture of bicycles or equipment.

Jeff is an active member of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the Consumer Attorneys of California, and the San Francisco Bar Association. In his spare time he is a gifted musician, and rock climber, and enjoys hiking with his two dogs.
