Assaad M. Stephan is a licensed California attorney whose practice emphasizes transactions, litigation, arbitration and mediation on behalf of companies and individuals primarily in the fields of: (1) Real Estate Law; (2) Construction Law; (3) Estate Planning and Trust Administration; (4) Corporate Law and Business Planning; and (5) General Civil and Business Litigation.
Mr. Stephan represents buyers and sellers in regards to claims arising from real estate purchase and sale agreements, including disputes over liquidated damages and deposits, as well as matters involving non-disclosure, misrepresentation and fraud. Mr. Stephan also represents property owners in disputes with neighbors over various matters such as easements and encroachment. He also represents owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, and sureties in regards to construction matters in the prosecution and/or defense of claims arising from payment disputes, construction delays, cost overruns, liens, stop notices, and construction defects in arbitration and courts. He also represents property owners, property managers, and tenants in regards to various landlord-tenant matters.
Mr. Stephan is local to the Bay Area and calls the San Francisco Peninsula his home. He grew up in Burlingame and Millbrae. He later attended Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose. After graduating with a management science degree from the University of California, San Diego, Mr. Stephan graduated from law school at the University Of San Francisco School Of Law. Mr. Stephan later received his master's degree (LL.M.) in taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
Mr. Stephan is fluent in English and Arabic, and can speak some French. Most importantly, Mr. Stephan knows how to speak your everyday language and put aside the "legalese" when explaining the law and process. This will help you better understand your legal standing and options moving forward.
