    Hired Attorney 2023-2025
my sister was the executor. My father had a sizable but simple estate, to be divided between my sister and myself, the whole ordeal should have been fairly quick and painless. However Darin made every single aspect of dividing up the estate an ordeal and dragged it on for years.( Yes, big paycheck for Darin!) Things went dark quickly and I was unable to get information from Darin, so I hired a lawyer from a very reputable firm in the city. Darin ignored my attorney’s requests for information and kept putting off dividing the estate. I finally had to hire a top litigator from San Francisco to get Darin to do his job. Yes, I was paying for two attorneys just to get Darin to do what he was supposed to do, settle the estate. Darin was supposed to be representing my father’s estate but he quickly aligned himself to my sister and refused to act in a professional manner. Darin seems to enjoy drama and pushing the boundaries of ethics, which is reason enough to avoid him.If you love your heirs, steer clear of Darin A. Leviloff of Froneberger & Leviloff. I found him to be high on unprofessionalism and low on ethics. Darin was the lawyer for my father’s estate and

This review was not from my client. My client was her sister who was appointed by her father to be the trustee of the estate. Her review of my services is below: Losing your loved ones is incredibly hard. Then, unexpectedly dealing with their Trust- daunting and overwhelming. Luckily, I found Froneberger and Leviloff. Darin was kind and patient. He took his time walking me through the required steps. There were many. This was not simple- there were complex banking issues, business buildings, residential buildings, and a large boat. All of which had to be sold and or sorted. Add to that a beneficiary who caused extra steps, grief, and stress throughout the entire process. Darin took everything he could off my plate. He was professional, ethical, and went out of his way to help me close out the Trust in as timely a manner as possible given the circumstances. I highly recommend Froneberger and Leviloff. You will be in very capable hands."

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
