Consulted Attorney 2018-2019Before I start, I must address that as a consumer utilizing the business services of a service provider, A fair assessment of said business practices can be made without fear of reprisal or accusations of libel or slander if evidence is proven to show the factual nature of assessments made. That being said. Mr. Morton is a highly unethical service provider in the legal system that presents himself as fair and equitable in his perspective and actions while the evidence of contention he introduced during legal proceedings purely to lengthen a case without merit ( proven numerous times upon judgment of the court and being reprimanded for his argumentative stance). Hey lied and misrepresented "truth" based on a narrative that thankfully the courts saw through, bullied witnesses on and off the stand etc. He retired in the middle of a court case he was representing and losing ( the client ultimately lost their case in the global sense and did not achieve the misbegotten objectives Mr. Morton laid the groundwork for in the name of a " vigorous representation" on behalf of said client). My assertion, based on past interactions is that he will not remain objective to the needs of both parties in a equitable, non- contentious fashion, but rather will only represent the clients interest with deeper pockets in order to subsidize his desire to obtain the bounty from those pockets while creating as much contention as possible for as long as possible. Buyer beware.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
