Nicole E. Hoikka is a Senior Associate in the law firm of Glickman & Glickman. Ms. Hoikka has represented a variety of clients, both individuals and public entities, in wide ranging litigation matters in both California and federal courts. Her areas of practice include civil rights, public sector and municipal law, federal constitutional rights, personal injury, medical and legal malpractice, appellate law, employment law, and general and tort liability.
Ms. Hoikka has significant experience in all aspects of civil litigation from case intake to final disposition at trial to post-trial writs and appeals. She specializes in law and motion strategy and focuses on legal writing and argument at both the trial and appellate court levels. Her practice in recent years has centered on complex and high-profile police brutality cases, with a focus on trial, pre-trial, and dispositive motions.
Ms. Hoikka received her Juris Doctorate from UCLA School of Law in 2015. During law school, she clerked for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Los Angeles Police Department Office of the Inspector General.
After law school, she participated in the highly selective American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Fellowship Program, which included a clerkship for the Hon. Mark Mooney of the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Ms. Hoikka has volunteered her time with various pro bono matters, including Public Counsel's Consumer Rights & Economic Justice Project and Al Otro Lado Border Rights Project.
Ms. Hoikka earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with double majors in History and Government from the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with high honors in 2011.
Ms. Hoikka is admitted to practice in California (active) and North Carolina (currently inactive). A dual citizen of the United Kingdom and United States and a former resident of Spain, Finland, the Netherlands, and Mexico, she currently lives in Los Angeles.
