    Hired Law firm 2022-2023
I’m still disappointed in Stuart. After reviewing his reviews I would think he would understand. He didn’t seem to care much about me (stepmom) I came with my husband when he was meeting with him so Stuart can get to know me because of the other parent (biological mom) made false statements about me and my husband as usual. Our lawyer before Stuart had to file a restraining order towards biological mom because of threats. Doesn’t that show you what type of behavior bio-mom has? That is how we lost a good lawyer! 10yrs dealing with a narcissist parent is not easy and especially for the child which is why Martinez did a great job meeting with child’s Dad, Stepmom and child’s Teachers. Martinez was able to get to the bottom of it and made the right decision placing the child in a safe home! If Stuart would’ve followed through Martinez suggestion before giving biological mom full access. The child wouldn’t been exposed to sex, verbally and mentally abuses. I’ve been in this child’s life since my husband fought for visitation at two months old. I’m a human being who cares for children. It saddens me to see Stuart client being forced to her visit with her mom on the days she doesn’t want to go. I emailed Stuart everything his client would tell me. I even emailed him the journal his client would write about her visit with her bio-mom. However, I showed up at Court and Stuart used it against me! Describing me the same way bio-mom would. Stuart is a biased person in my eyes because again he didn’t make no effort in meeting with me when we drove an hour away to have this meeting as a family. He just made eye contact with my husband and child and made me stay in the waiting room with my two toddlers. I wish he would made the effort in speaking with me and the school teachers since they did had a lot of reports towards bio-mom. Stuart if you are reading this and care for your client can you once in a while call your client to see how your client is doing? Your client doesn’t like how you did us! You let a narcissist parent use religion and act to get to you. Your client is afraid of her bio-mom and you said “she has loyalty” it’s not loyalty. It’s your client being afraid of getting popped for speaking up! She has anxiety because your client first 5yrs of life was being abused and brainwashed by her mother and grandmother! When your client was placed with us She was living her best life. Healing from her trauma until you decided to think it was a good idea to believe everything bio-mom said about the system failed her.. you are new to the case and this is how you handled it? Again, my experience with Stuart was a ZERO and NO STARS! If you are a step parent don’t keep your hopes up until your name is on the courts paper. I will petition to get rights as a stepparent Stuart.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
