Robin J. Cottingham focuses her practice on family law, assisting clients with divorce, legal separation, child custody and visitation, child support, domestic violence restraining orders, elder abuse matters, and guardianships. She approaches family law with an understanding that clients are often navigating some of the most difficult and personal circumstances of their lives.

Robin earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of La Verne. She pursued her legal education at Ventura College of Law in California and Hofstra University in New York. While attending law school, Robin worked with children with autism and served as a behavioral specialist at Casa Pacifica, experiences that strengthened her ability to work with children and families facing complex emotional and behavioral challenges.

Before becoming an attorney, Robin worked as a family law paralegal for many years, giving her practical experience with family law matters before entering legal practice. That background, together with her education in psychology and behavioral services, provides her with a well-rounded perspective when addressing sensitive custody, domestic violence, and other family-related issues.

Robin is actively involved in the legal and local community. She serves on the Board of Directors of Ventura County Women Lawyers and volunteers her time assisting survivors of domestic violence and individuals who otherwise may not have access to legal representation.
