Overview
Mr. Beckman, a native Hoosier, is a 1984 graduate of the University of California at Berkeley where he majored in Political Science. Following his graduation, Mr. Beckman lived in and near Tokyo, Japan for one year, studying both the language and culture of that country. Mr. Beckman entered Hastings College of the Law in 1987, where he was a Member and Note Editor of the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review. Mr. Beckman was admitted to the California Bar December 4, 1990. Mr. Beckman is the proud father of two lovely daughters.
In 1991 Mr. Beckman associated with the Law Offices of Steven Adair MacDonald, where he was integral in matters involving real estate consultation and litigation. In 1997, he became a partner, and MacDonald Beckman LLP was formed, followed by subsequent partnerships, through to his current association at Beckman Feller & Chang, P.C. Through his career, Mr. Beckman has tried many bench and jury trials throughout the Bay Area and is familiar with local courts and judges. He has focus on real estate litigation, but often is able to craft pretrial resolutions for the parties involved in the firm's complex cases. He represents clients in a broad range of real estate-related disputes, including partition of co-ownership interests, agency and broker liability, purchase contract disputes, and trust deed and foreclosure issues. Mr. Beckman provides advice to owners and property managers on all aspects of landlord-tenant issues regarding residential and commercial matters. He has been a featured speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars, acts as a private mediator and serves as a Judge Pro Tem for the San Francisco Superior Court.
