Her extensive experience includes the handling of numerous cases involving surrogacy, egg, sperm, and embryo donation, catering to a diverse clientele both domestically and internationally. Amani has extensively evaluated and issued numerous health insurance coverage opinions pertaining to maternity care for surrogate members and associated matters. Furthermore, Amani has effectively negotiated medical bills with service providers on behalf of clients. Now exclusively practicing in her realm of expertise, Amani is dedicated to using her knowledge to help guide clients through the legal and insurance aspects of fertility law. Before returning and assuming her current role as a Partner at the firm in which she gained eight years of experience as an associate she had established her own legal practice, Hanson Reproductive Law (HRL). Amani was able to turn HRL into a highly successful firm in just two years.
Amani is not just a practitioner but an active contributor to the Fertility Law community. She currently serves on the Executive Board of Legal Professionals Group under the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and is a member of the Executive Council for the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), showcasing her commitment to staying updated with the latest developments and contributing to the field.
Amani Hanson earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Texas Tech University prior to pursuing her legal education. She received a Post-Baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award from the National Institutes of Health for her work in researching Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and has been published in the Journal of Neuroscience Methods. Amani completed a J.D./M.B.A. dual degree program at Rutgers School of Law and School of Business - Camden, marking the commencement of her legal career.
