Attorney Information
Overview
I specialize in business and family immigration law. I represent clients in nearly all areas of business immigration law, assisting employers and employees with nonimmigrant and immigrant work visa petitions as well as permanent residence (green card) applications and consular processing.
I also represent individuals and families who have a wide variety of immigration goals, assisting with family-sponsored petitions, permanent residence (green card) applications, naturalization applications, waiver applications, DACA applications, and other matters.
I began taking pro bono immigration cases in 2010 and ultimately moved full-time into immigration law in 2014. I am grateful to have found work I am passionate about. I understand how stressful these processes can be, and I work hard to provide dedicated and diligent representation to my clients.
I graduated with honors from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where I attended as a nontraditional evening student while working full-time in finance and operations at the University of Denver. I also hold English and Political Science degrees from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Throughout my education, I have focused my coursework on immigration, environmental, and social justice issues.
Born in Wyoming, I have lived in Colorado for most of my life. I have had the privilege of studying Spanish in both Panama and Argentina, and I work each day to improve my Spanish. When not assisting clients, I enjoy yoga, hiking, and spending as much time with my family as possible. They inspire me to do everything I can to help keep families together and to advocate for just and compassionate laws and policies.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
