Verified ClientHired Attorney 2013I was very satisfied with how Mr. Anaya handled my case. He was always available to answer my questions and was very professional. Based on his excellent representation I was able to keep a conviction off my record. I would highly recommend Mr. Anaya and his firm to anyone with a criminal case.

Hired Attorney 2023After informing the court that there was a conflict of interests with the Public pretenders office, I was appointed Mr. Anaya as counsel on a Friday with court the following Monday. I have found Mr. Anaya to be very evasive and extremely difficult to get a hold of! I was on bond from 2 false arrests and re-arrested days following being assigned Mr. Anaya. Desperate for counsel, the day prior to being arrested, and unable to reach Mr. Anaya, I physically went to the office listed on Google: 615 S. Weber St, The office/house appeared to have been vacated and they were no signs indicating that this was the office of Mr. Anaya. Unable to contact him for any type of communication, I was on my own and arrested the following morning at the 4th Judicial District Court. I informed Mr. Anaya that I had no qualms about filing complaints with the Supreme court as well as DORA, if he in any way, shape, or form, violates my rights, or fails to provide the services he is upheld by law and oath, to perform. At this point, I would not recommend Mr. Anaya.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
