Hired Law firm 2021DO NOT contact this law firm unless you are looking to get ripped off! From the very beginning were red flags that this law firm misrepresents themselves, they lack communication and compassion and care nothing about what they are supposed to be representing, they only care about how much money they can get out of you! I am a single mother coming out of a long marriage to an abusive husband and struggling to keep my head above water while trying to solely provide for our child. This was my experience with Drexler: First of all, Matt Drexler was referred to me by a friend and he mediated their dissolution of marriage. I spoke with Matt in consultation and concluded it would be best to retain him as my lawyer; mediation not being an option for me. I paid $5000 to retain Matt as my lawyer when showing up for my first appointment there at the office to find out my appointment was set up for a phone call with an appointed lawyer, Raquel. I was extremely thrown off and expressed this during my visit and Matt assured me that they worked as a team and Raquel would represent me. So reluctantly I agreed putting my faith in someone I haven't even met. The charges began as I had to discuss my situation and concerns all over again with Raquel. For the first few months I kept expressing my financial concerns and questioning when I would meet my lawyer...and after months of not really knowing what was being done to collect marital responsibility or any child support I finally get an in person meeting with Raquel which cost me hundreds of dollars for her to tell me, "I am not compassionate, I try to be but I'm not". Raquel sucked every penny out of me that she could and did absolutely nothing for me! When another lawyer read the trash agreement she set me up with...he said after reading it that it appeared she was representing the opposing counsel! Needless to say, I was duped by Raquel, she misrepresents herself as compassionate and never showed an ounce of it, only cares about taking your money and without appropriate representation! Please beware and don't ignore the red flags! After realizing what has happened to me a friend was able to pull many bad reviews about Raquel and with similar stories. I only wish I knew what to look for and hope my story will save someone from going into debt and having nothing to show for it! I was billed over $16,000 to not even go into court and to sign a trash agreement that included nothing I asked for.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
