Hired Law firm 2023I hired Joyner law mainly to give me peace of mind with a frivelous civil case that got brought against me by a representive of my landlord, which was just ludicrous and completely fabricated. However, I still needed a vigorous defense to risk having that womans lies showing up on my record in the future. Joyner Law (and Andrew specifically on the lawyer side and Derek on the coordination side) were able to come through and get the case dismissed without issue, and were able to give my the insight into the process and reassurance I needed to sleep better while the case moved forward, and was eventually dismissed. I can't recommend them enough - they got the job done I hired them for, they were communicative throughout the process, and genuinely helped me navigate what for me was uncharted territory. They handled all issues that popped up professionally, and at the end of the day got the results I wanted for what I think was a fair price for the service I receive. 5 stars for sure -- thanks to Andrew, Derek, and the rest of the team! My record remains clean and I no longer have to worry about this dark cloud hanging over me anymore - and I can finally move forward with everything else going in my life!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
