Mr. Houghton has a proven track record of guiding clients through complex legal matters, from entity formation and corporate governance to business acquisitions to complicated real estate matters and succession planning. His estate planning practice includes the preparation of wills, trusts, medical directives (living wills), medical powers of attorney and general powers of attorney, ensuring his clients' personal and financial legacies are well-protected.
Previously, Mr. Houghton served as the City Attorney for the City of Cripple Creek for ten years, where he played a pivotal role in navigating the legal and regulatory challenges of the city’s gaming industry. He also represented one of Colorado’s largest real estate developers, working extensively in real estate law and working with governmental entities on land use planning, zoning, infrastructure development, and water law.
