Overview
Matthew, who is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), practices employment and disability discrimination. Prior to joining the firm, Matthew was a federal Law Clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and an attorney at Eisenberg & Baum’s Deaf Law Center in New York City. Matt is admitted to practice law in Colorado, New York, New Jersey, and Maryland.
Matthew is an accomplished attorney who is dedicated to advocating for equality, justice, and empowerment. Born into a Deaf family as an individual who is hearing, Matthew's upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for the power of equal communication, access, and the importance of representation for marginalized communities. His fluency in ASL allows him to bridge crucial gaps in communication, ensuring that the voices of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing are heard and respected within the legal system.
Matthew specializes in Deaf rights, disability discrimination, and civil rights cases. His practice also encompasses a wide range of employment-related matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and employee benefits. He brings a unique perspective to his practice, informed by his personal experiences and unwavering dedication to social justice.
Since joining the firm, Matthew has demonstrated success in and out of the courtroom. Matthew was on the trial team that won a preliminary injunction against the Colorado Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel, which granted test accommodations to an individual with a disability for the Colorado Bar examination. Additionally, Matt was part of the trial team that successfully defended an employee accused of violating her non-compete agreement. Matt has also negotiated various settlements for his clients.
Whether Matt is representing employees facing workplace discrimination, seeking payment for unpaid wages, fighting for the rights of individuals with disabilities, or challenging systemic barriers to accessibility, Matthew approaches each case with compassion, dedication, and a fierce determination to achieve justice.
