Overview
Rylei Duranczyk’s practice is focused exclusively on providing top tier criminal defense as a trial attorney. Her commitment to this work is rooted in both her professional training and lived experience, shaping her belief that defense work done right can truly change lives.
Rylei earned her Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where she was a Willard H. Pedrick Scholar and intentionally focused her studies on trial advocacy and criminal defense. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude.
Rylei has dedicated herself exclusively to criminal defense work. She was a member of the Public Defender Clinic and participated in advanced trial advocacy courses, where she developed courtroom skills under the supervision and guidance of experienced public defenders, prosecutors, and judges. She also has worked with both the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office and the City of Phoenix Public Defender’s Office, gaining hands-on experience in client representation and courtroom proceedings.
Following law school, Rylei began her legal career as a Deputy Public Defender with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, where she represented clients in a wide range of criminal matters, advocating for individuals facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. As a prior public defender, she learned the importance of telling someone’s story so the government cannot define someone by a single moment in their life.
Rylei approaches every case with empathy, careful listening, and an appreciation for the real-world consequences of courtroom decisions. She believes effective criminal defense requires more than legal knowledge – it requires genuine care for her clients, attention to the nuances of the criminal justice system, and a willingness to consistently fight for a client’s best interests. She brings that mindset to every case and remains committed to growing as an advocate while providing thoughtful, diligent representation.
