Attorney Information

Overview

Many Estate Planning Law Firms in Colorado will sell you a trust template to serve as your Estate Plan. That type of firm is commonly referred to as a "Trust Mill". Our law firm is different, we never provide cookie cutter plans. We make sure that your estate plan is YOUR ESTATE PLAN and take the time to help you understand the many options available in Estate Planning. Your Estate Plan will be tailored specifically for you and your family's circumstances.

I have been practicing law for over 25 years. I practice almost exclusively in the areas of Estate Planning, Trusts, and Probate Matters. I serve as a Professional Fiduciary by serving as Trustee, Personal Representative or Power of Attorney for clients who do not wish to name family members in those positions.

A Professional Fiduciary is often in a better position to objectively carry out the roles of Trustee or Executor because they are not influenced by emotions, personal agendas or family conflicts. Naming an Attorney for these type of roles helps to avoid conflicts of interest (real or perceived) with the grantor or beneficiaries that can influence decision making or leave the fiduciary subject to conflict, criticism and potential legal action...all of which increase the time to complete the probate process and the costs incurred by the Estate. A Professional Fiduciary offers a range of services that serve to ensure a smooth administration and meet the objectives of the grantor of the Trust or testator.

Hiring Jones Law Office means you have experienced attorneys to assist with the Administration of your Estate or Trust. As financial circumstances become more complex, the value of professional guidance cannot be overemphasized. Jones Law Office is positioned to provide trusted experience in administration and oversight, whether it be in drafting your estate plan, establishing a long term relationship with your family and heirs, or serving as your Trustee or Agent. We are committed to maintaining the highest fiduciary standards and surpassing the expectations of the clients we serve.

In my spare time I enjoy staying active in our Evergreen community where I reside with my husband and four children. I can often be seen around town or in the mountains hiking and biking with my family and two golden doodles.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
