Consulted Law firm 2021Called for a. Consultation and the secretary advised me that I would ha e to move to another state and get a license there and that was the only option. Not I ly was she unqualified to give this advice, but it is incorrect. Avoid this law firm, as they don't k kw what they are talking about and don't even let you talk to a lawyer during the alleged free consultation!

Consulted Law firm 2024-2025I’m very disappointed with this experience—extremely irresponsible. As someone who frequently works with attorneys due to having multiple drivers on the road, this has been the worst experience by far. The attorney initially quoted me a fee for handling the traffic citation, and when I repeatedly called to pay the retainer, the receptionist insisted on checking with the attorney first. When I finally spoke with the attorney, he promised to inform the receptionist, but when I called again to pay, the receptionist said it wasn’t cost-effective for them to take the case. Why waste my time quoting fees for a case you won’t take? If you encounter this level of irresponsibility from the start, don’t bother pursuing it further.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
