Overview
Christine M. Hernández, Esq., is a shareholder at Hernandez & Associates, P.C. She is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) and has served as Chair of their Immigration Section since 2015. She has previously served as a member of HNBA's Advocacy Day Planning Committee and Finance Development Committee. Christine is the Immediate Past President of the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association (CHBA) and served as Chair of their Education Committee 2016-2017. As Immediate Past President she sits on the CBA/DBA President's Diversity Council and is an active member and serves as CHBA's representative to the Colorado Lawyer's Committee. She is Co-Chair of the Colorado Lawyers Committee's Racial Justice Task Force. Christine also sits on the Board of Trustees for the Denver Bar Association. She is a member of the Colorado Supreme Court's Wellness Task Force and the CBA/CJI Diversity on the Bench Joint Initiative. In 2020 she was appointed to the Colorado Supreme Court's Hearing Board. She has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 2005. She currently serves on the ICE Liaison Committee and is Chair of the Practice Management Committee for the Colorado Chapter and has served as Vice-Chair of AILA National's Removal Issues Committee, member of AILA National's 2013 Annual Conference Committee, member of AILA National's EOIR Liaison Committee, Chair of AILA Colorado's Member Services Committee, Chair of AILA Colorado's GEO Liaison Committee, Mentor of AILA Colorado's GEO Liaison Committee, and member of AILA Colorado's EOIR Liaison Committee. She represents immigration clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals, as well as the 9th and 10th Circuit Courts of Appeals, US Supreme Court, and various Consular Posts throughout the world. She also represents clients in criminal proceedings before the various state and federal courts in Colorado. She graduated from the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law and received her B.S. B.A. degree from American University in Washington, D.C., graduating magna cum laude, with a focus in International Business. She clerked at the Denver Immigration Court and Supremo Tribunal de Justicia in Guanajuato, Mexico. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.Expert Endorsements

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
