Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder PC
Bridgeport Catastrophic Personal Injury Lawyer
Overview
With compassion and concern for his clients, Antonio Ponvert III represents child and adult victims of catastrophic personal injury, sexual abuse, wrongful death, deprivation of Constitutional rights, police misconduct, and other abuses of power. He cares deeply about his clients and how their injuries have altered their lives, and is passionately committed to obtaining maximum justice for his clients and to punishing wrongdoers.
Since joining Koskoff in 1999, Antonio has earned multiple record-breaking verdicts and settlements, including the second largest personal injury verdict in Connecticut history ($41.75 million) on behalf of a young woman who contracted Tick-Borne Encephalitis on an overseas school trip, a $20 million verdict against a rabbi for child sexual abuse, and the only wrongful death settlement in history with the manufacturer of Skoal smokeless tobacco on behalf of the surviving wife and children of a man who died from tongue cancer.
Antonio has won substantial compensation for victims of child sexual abuse at private schools, and for mentally ill prisoners, suicide victims, and people abused and tortured by prison guards and by psychiatric hospital staff. He achieved substantial monetary and injunctive relief for female correctional officers who were victims of sexual harassment and discrimination, and for the Guardians Black Police Officers Association in one of the longest-running race discrimination cases in the nation.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
