Attorney Information

Overview

Kelly Fitzpatrick is a trial attorney at Koskoff, where she brings over a decade of experience and a steadfast belief that every client deserves personalized, compassionate, and strategic advocacy. Since joining the firm in 2021, Kelly has continued to champion individuals and families harmed by medical negligence, unsafe products, and institutional failures.

She recently co-led a landmark multi-plaintiff litigation against Yale University’s Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Clinic, representing patients affected by fentanyl diversion due to inadequate controlled substance protocols. The case garnered national attention and was featured in The Retrievals, a podcast produced by The New York Times and Serial, and resulted in a historic settlement.

Kelly has represented clients across the country in complex pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, as well as in cases involving medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and personal injury. In a recent medical malpractice trial, she secured a $20 million verdict for the estate of a 68-year-old man who died due to negligent intraoperative care during a routine surgery.

Her leadership in mass tort litigation was recognized in 2016 when U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg appointed her to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the Viagra and Cialis Products Liability Litigation (MDL 2691).

Kelly’s approach to advocacy is rooted in collaboration and empathy. She listens closely to her clients, identifies both legal and personal challenges, and works with them to pursue justice—not only through compensation but by promoting accountability and systemic change.

She is an active member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, serving on its Board of Governors, and holds leadership roles within the American Association for Justice, including on the Women’s Trial Lawyers Executive Committee and as co-chair of the Trial Lawyers Care Committee.

Originally from Connecticut, Kelly practiced law in New York and New Jersey before returning home. She now lives in Oxford with her husband and two children. Outside the courtroom, she enjoys running, spending time with her family, and cheering on UConn basketball.

Your Profile?  Update Now

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
