Attorney Information

Overview

Lorena is the first attorney at Koskoff to work her way up through various positions within the firm, starting as a legal assistant in 2014, then paralegal in 2019, a Trial Advocacy Fellow in 2020, and now an associate attorney.

As a legal assistant she cultivated a comprehensive knowledge of appellate, federal, and state civil procedure and was instrumental in helping prepare cases for trial and appeal. As a paralegal Lorena focused primarily on the lawsuit against the gun manufacturer of the weapon used in the Sandy Hook School shooting.

Now a 2020 graduate from Quinnipiac University School of Law, Lorena continues her involvement in the Sandy Hook lawsuit while providing support in other high profile cases. Lorena’s passion for serving clients and dedication to excellence make her a valuable asset to these cases.

Before becoming an attorney, Lorena worked at Koskoff while simultaneously attending law school. She was a member of Quinnipiac’s Mock Trial and Society for Dispute Resolution competition teams. Prior to Law School, Lorena was a member of the St. Bellarmine Pre-Law society at Fairfield University where she graduated cum laude with dual degrees in Politics and International Studies, and minors in Peace & Justice Studies, Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies, and Asian Studies.

Your Profile?  Update Now

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
