Attorney Information
Overview
Kevin J. Daken, Esq. represents clients in all facets of family law including divorce and legal separation, alimony and child support, property distribution, child custody and access, various post-judgment disputes and pre- and post-nuptial agreements. Attorney Daken aspires to deliver cost-effective, favorable and fair results to his clients using common sense and an attention to detail. He firmly believes that family and matrimonial attorneys are counselors as much as they are advocates, and he always aims to serve his clients with compassion, patience and pragmatic advice.
Prior to beginning his career as a family law attorney, Attorney Daken served as a clerk for the Superior Court of the Judicial District of New Haven at Meriden, where he gained unique insight into the judicial process as well as exposure to a wide range of civil and family matters. Since October 2011, Attorney Daken has worked exclusively in the area of family law with the firm of Siegel & Kaufman, P.C. and its predecessor firms.
Attorney Daken earned his law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he participated in the Civil Legal Clinic. In connection with his work at the clinic, he was the recipient of the James R. DeFonce '80 Memorial Endowed Scholarship for his advocacy on behalf of disabled clients and also received an Award for Excellence in Clinical Work. Attorney Daken received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in History from Illinois Wesleyan University.
Attorney Daken is admitted to practice in Connecticut and is a member of the Fairfield County, Connecticut and American Bar Associations. He currently serves as a Co-Chairman of the Family Section of the Fairfield County Bar Association and is a member of the Collaborative Divorce Attorneys of Fairfield County. In 2013, Attorney Daken attended the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers National Institute for Family Law Associates. In 2018, he was a featured presenter at a seminar concerning Post-Majority Child Support: A Primer & Discussion of Practical Considerations
Attorney Daken is proud to have been recognized as a New England Super Lawyers Rising Star in the area of Family Law from 2015 to present.
