Overview
Rebecca Mayo Goodrich provides comprehensive client-focused legal representation in complex family law, juvenile law, and real estate matters. She has 25 years of experience in balancing assertive courtroom advocacy with strategic, compassionate counsel for adults and families across Connecticut.
Recognized for her authority in domestic dispute resolution, Attorney Goodrich serves as a Court-Appointed Special Master in both the Danbury and Waterbury Judicial Districts, helping resolve complex family law cases before trial. Her deep understanding of family and juvenile law is so highly regarded that she was invited by the State of Connecticut Probate Judges to present a masterclass seminar on the jurisdictional differences between the Superior, Juvenile, and Probate court systems.
A former president of the Litchfield County Bar Association, she was appointed in September 2026 to the Connecticut Bar Association Awards Committee, which evaluates nominations and selects recipients for the association’s prestigious statewide honors.
Family Law & Civil Representation
Attorney Goodrich guides clients through key financial, domestic, and personal legal decisions, offering both adversarial litigation and collaborative options:
Marriage & Dissolution: She handles custody disputes, marital dissolution, prenuptial agreements, and postnuptial agreements, and is certified by the Connecticut Counsel for Non-Adversarial Divorce to guide clients through collaborative divorce.
Protective & Probate Orders: She prepares and contests adult restraining orders, as well as navigating complex probate court matters.
Financial & Property Assets: She manages financial discovery, pension evaluations, and real estate transactions to safeguard client assets during major life transitions.
Juvenile Law
Attorney Goodrich maintains a dedicated practice representing minors and navigating juvenile court proceedings:
Child Advocacy: She is a certified Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) and Attorney for the Minor Child (AMC) in Connecticut.
Specialized Training: She is certified in the “Finding Words” protocol alongside state prosecutors and the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to represent and protect young individuals in sensitive legal matters.
Recognition: She was honored by the Connecticut Bar Association’s Juvenile Law Section in 2020 as one of the top performers in the Juvenile Law and Child Welfare Field.
Whether fighting aggressively in a courtroom or negotiating a private resolution, her dedication has earned her a prestigious 4.8 out of 5.0 Martindale-Hubbell Client Review rating.
