Customer Reviews for Law Office of Meryl Anne Spat

Hired Law firm 2020-2022Total POS! I am terminally ill with a list of complications and was denied. She is worthless! Didn’t bother to appeal so I can no longer apply for disability. No communication, no respect at all. Look up bipolar and you will see her picture. Terrible person that shouldn’t be representing anyone. Possibly a witch. Very lazy, very mean person. Not worth a star. Run away from this criminal!

Consulted Law firm 2023-2024If my experience with her changes, I will add stars to the review, but as of now: she declined my case months ago (I think) and came back recently and she was helping me move the case along. But now she’s stopped communicating, so I think she doesn’t want to represent me. But maybe not, so I can’t truly say “service end year.” I don’t know if it is over.

Hired Law firm 2021-2022If I could give this lawyer a negative 10, I would. She is a do nothing lawyer. Never returns calls or emails. Flips out when you ask her too many questions. Because of her I lost my home and she told me to splash some cold water on my face and move on. She’s a disgrace to the profession.

Hired Law firm 2021The WORST experiences I ever had with an Attorney! She was rude, totally unorganized and should NOT be allowed to practice law! The next firm I went to was extremely professional and it showed me just how awful Attorney Spat was. DO NOT HIRE her!!!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
