Lawrence B. Trachtenberg - West Port, CT

After graduating from law school, Larry performed volunteer work for the Massachusetts Civil Liberties Union in Boston before returning to New York as a commercial litigator. In 1998, Larry became affiliated with the Sheresky firm. In 2001, he became a partner.

As an aggressive and passionate advocate for his clients, Larry is well-suited to matrimonial law. He balances this passionate advocacy with a pragmatic approach to settling cases to each client's satisfaction as quickly as possible, so that the persons directly affected, rather than judges, can decide family matters.

Matrimonial law as practiced in an equitable-distribution and fault state such as New York allows Larry to utilize his writing skills to address interesting and cutting-edge legal issues. There is rarely a brief that leaves the Sheresky office without first receiving the "Trachtenberg touch."

When not indulging a passion for live music, Larry is a whitewater rafter, a hiker who maintains several miles of trail in Fahnestock State Park, and a serious birder, responsible for the Audubon Christmas counts for sections of Putnam and Westchester Counties. He is also a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan.

Larry has been married to Patricia Loquet since 1982. They have two children and grandchildren.
