She has lobbied in Washington DC and Dover for victims rights. Ms. Gelof is passionate about her work for all clients. She is their voice. She uses that voice to obtain fair compensation for her clients. She achieves that through out-of-court settlement, arbitration, mediation or trial. Ms. Gelof explains, "Helping people is why I became an attorney. When I meet with clients, they are usually in pain due to the injuries they have suffered during an accident, and they are overwhelmed by their medical condition, medical bills, lost wages and phone calls from insurance companies. They need someone to help them. When they walk out the door of my office following our initial meeting, I strive to have them feel less stressed and anxious about their unfortunate situation. They now have me and my entire team to help them through the legal process." Ms. Gelof provides her clients a unique perspective of their cases due to her previous representation of defendants and now plaintiffs in personal injury cases. This perspective helps her clients resolve or litigate their cases successfully. Ms. Gelof and the T&R team communicate with our clients so they make fully informed decisions every step through the process. Ms. Gelof meets with clients in all five (5) locations: Georgetown, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Bethany Beach and Milford.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
