Attorney Information
Overview
Dave Skoranski is an experienced trial attorney who has spent his career in the courtroom, trying more than 50 jury cases to verdict and litigating complex matters from investigation through appeal. He now focuses his practice on representing individuals in personal injury, medical malpractice, and workers’ compensation cases, as well as pursuing justice in civil rights violations.
Dave’s career has been defined by trial work on both sides of the courtroom. As a Deputy Attorney General in Delaware’s Division of Civil Rights & Public Trust, he prosecuted high-profile cases involving public corruption, police misconduct, and hate crimes, securing multiple jury convictions and arguing before the Delaware Supreme Court. Earlier, as an Assistant Public Defender, he defended clients facing serious felony charges, including capital cases. This breadth of experience taught Dave how cases are built and challenged from every angle—insight he now uses to anticipate the strategies of insurance companies and defense counsel, giving his clients a powerful advantage in pursuing justice and fair compensation.
Dave earned his J.D. from Temple University School of Law, where he served on the Temple International & Comparative Law Journal and received the Rubin Public Interest Award for his commitment to pro bono service. Active in the Delaware legal community, he is a member of the Rodney Inn of Court, the Delaware State Bar Association, and is an alum of Leadership Delaware. He has been recognized as one of Delaware Business Times’ “40 Under 40” and named a Top Lawyer by Delaware Today in 2025.
Beyond his legal work, Dave serves on the board of the Hope Center Foundation, which supports the unhoused in New Castle County. He lives in Wilmington with his wife and three children, and his dedication to family and community deepens his commitment to standing up for clients when it matters most.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
