I contacted Dr. Michael Wilson for a free medical legal consultation on two different issues. I found him to be professional, quite knowledgeable, and also personable. He gave me medical legal advice on medical malpractice that was useful and accurate, as we worked through my issues together. I appreciated Dr. Wilson's advice so much, that he is now not only my lawyer, but also my friend. I can recommend him to you if you need the very best for your medical malpractice case. I think that you will find a consultation with Dr. Wilson to be helpful. I give him five stars based upon my experience with him.

I retained Dr. Michael Wilson when I had a ruptured Achilles tendon that was misdiagnosed as a sprained ankle. I kept asking for treatment, but the incorrect diagnosis never changed. By the time I got the correct diagnosis, it was too late to repair the Achilles tendon. I then had to search for a good D.C. medical malpractice lawyer. I called more than forty lawyers, and each firm rejected my case. I was going to give up. Then someone suggested that I call Dr. Michael Wilson, because he would understand the medicine of what went wrong, and what I have to live with afterwards. I called him, we had a great talk, and he said that he would take my case! After getting the medical records, we filed suit and proceeded to depositions. Eventually they offered a small amount that we rejected, and went to trial. The D.C. jury came back with a 2 million dollar verdict! After the verdict, several jurors told us that some members of the jury were considering awarding $5 Million dollars. Attorney Michael Wilson did a great job on my case, and I will always be thankful for his efforts. He was professional, he was diligent, and he fought for me very hard all the way. He took a case that nobody wanted and made a multimillion dollar case out of it. I continue to call him with new legal matters and have referred a number of my friends to his legal practice. I read a recent 2021 review of D.C. medical malpractice lawyers that listed his firm at the top of the best medical malpractice law firms in Washington, D.C. I agree that he is the best of the DC medical malpractice lawyers! He is honest, dedicated, and will not let you down. I recommend him to you if you want a great medical malpractice lawyer who gets multimillion dollar results. He is the best if you want aggressive representation for your medical malpractice case!

I am a Virginia trial attorney with 26 years of trial experience and a former president of the Virginia Trial Lawyer’s Association. Dr. Michael Wilson and I work together on medical malpractice cases, with Michael emphasizing the medical case formulation, and my team responsible for Virginia litigation. This is a system that has worked very well for our clients. Dr. Michael Wilson provides excellent service using his Georgetown medical M.D. degree for his malpractice clients. He is a pleasure to work with, always lending a sympathetic ear and expert eye to potential claims for victims of serious injury. We strive every day to serve victims of malpractice with the best medical malpractice legal representation in Virginia. Dr. Wilson and I are confident that we can see cases through with the highest levels of success in what is a challenging and difficult environment for victims of malpractice.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
