Overview
As Senior Counsel, Pamela will focus her practice on federal employment law and employment law matters originating in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Pamela has extensive experience representing clients in federal administrative hearings before the U.S. EEOC and the Merit Systems Protection Board. She also has litigation experience in the Eastern District of Virginia, Richmond, and Norfolk Divisions. Pamela regularly represents Virginia clients in state agency grievances, local personnel Board hearings, unemployment hearings, and before the Virginia Board of Nursing, Medicine and Pharmacy. As a former in-house counsel, Pamela’s background also includes providing human resource management, consulting and training to Virginia businesses seeking proactive ways to avoid the personnel and financial costs of complaints of discrimination and potential litigation.
Prior to joining Tully Rinckey, Pamela owned and operated her own law practice in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, Pamela garnered the trust and respect of employees who wanted compassionate and assertive representation during all aspects of the employment experience, many of whom were repeat clients or close associates. In June 2021, Pamela was voted one of Virginia’s “Go-To Lawyers” for employment law by Virginia Lawyers Weekly, having been nominated by her peers. She has conducted training for employees in the Richmond and tri-city areas on workplace harassment, privacy in the workplace, how to present successful unemployment hearings at all levels, and an update on the 2020 amendments to the Virginia Human Rights Act and what those amendments mean for Virginia employees and discrimination litigation in state courts.
Pamela is a Richmond, Virginia, native and resides in Chesterfield County, Virginia, with her husband and daughter. She earned her B.A. in English with a minor in Women’s Studies from Westhampton College, University of Richmond. She received her law degree from the University of Richmond’s Law School. She is an Oliver Hill Scholar mentor at the University of Richmond, a member of several civic, community, and social organizations, and a strong supporter of her daughter’s high school and travel volleyball organizations.
