Eric S. Kane, Esq. is a member of the Florida Bar who has been practicing law for over fifteen years. His main office is located in Aventura, Florida, where he practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, and trust administration.Mr. Kane was recently recognized as the American Cancer Society (ACS) National Professional Advisor of the Year for his services as a volunteer member of the ACS's Nationwide Gift Planning Advisory Council. He currently serves as the Council's Chairperson.
In 2018, the University of Miami presented Mr. Kane with an award in appreciation for his service to the University of Miami Planned Giving Board. Mr. Kane frequently lectures on the topics of estate planning, probate administration, and healthcare related matters. Mr. Kane recently presented at the Florida Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (FMDA) 2021 Annual Conference on the topic of Medical Ethics and the Covid Pandemic. Mr. Kane was also a faculty presenter at the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care (NADONA) 2020 Annual Conference and a faculty presenter at the Florida Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (FMDA) 2019 Annual Conference where he lectured on the legal and ethical implications involving the use of Advanced Directives.
Mr. Kane has also authored a section in a course manual on revocable trusts, estate tax planning, and use of irrevocable trusts in Florida entitled "New Era of Estate Planning in Florida" for Lorman Educational Services.
Mr. Kane is a current or a past member of the following organizations: American Cancer Society Nationwide Gift Planning Advisory Council (Chair); Professional Advisory Board for the University of Miami Office of Planned Giving; Professional Advisory Committee of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation; Miami-Dade Israel Bond Board; Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami; Franklin and Marshall College Alumni Board of Directors; and Florida International University College of Nursing Advisory Board.
Mr. Kane has previously been appointed as a Special Magistrate, Court Appointed Receiver, and Guardian/Attorney/Administrator Ad Litem in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court in and for Miami-Dade County.
Mr. Kane is a graduate of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel Florida Fellows Institute and graduated cum laude with a J.D. and L.LM from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida. He received his B.A. in Government and Latin American Studies cum laude from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
