Mr. Smith graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.A. in Political Science. Subsequently, he obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
While attending law school, Mr. Smith worked for the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office where he represented the State of Florida for the prosecution of misdemeanor and DUI offenses. He also served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Judge Thomas B. Smith at the U.S. District Court of the Middle District of Florida.
Before joining Morgan & Morgan, Mr. Smith worked at Florida's largest insurance defense firm working primarily on the defense of claims involving vehicle negligence, premises liability, catastrophic personal injury, and coverage litigation involving bad faith and extra-contractual liability.
While defending large insurance companies, Mr. Smith gained valuable insight into carrier practices, affording him the ability to navigate their tactics and maximize settlement value to clients. Mr. Smith is proud to bring this experience to work for individuals and families who have been injured as a result of another's negligence.
